The POWER programme explores physical health, wellbeing and healthy lifestyle choices. Coach Kate has been working with schools across the city to deliver these lessons to primary school pupils, showing how healthy lifestyle choices benefit their bodies and in their daily lives. In Knotty Ash, Coach Kate delivered two workshops to KS1 and 2 around healthy lifestyle choices.
KS2 had the chance to see how the body digests food from the mouth, showing the best ways to brush your teeth down to creating poo! They also learned what different kinds of sizes and textures your poo can have and what they mean.
KS1 discussed the best choices to make in their daily lives and took part in creating a healthy lunch for Hope the bear using a selection of meat, dairy, biscuits, fruits and vegetables.

After these sessions Knotty Ash have discussed implementing the Choose Your Poo chart given out in the workshops into the pupils toilets to increase the awareness around their poo and to tell a teacher if anything changes!
